Yes, many of our round recessed lighting fixtures are rated for damp or wet locations. Damp location-rated fixtures are safe for outdoor areas under cover, while wet location-rated fixtures can withstand direct exposure to rain and snow. In some cases, a wet location-rated model may be available to specify. Be sure to use this specification when ordering products for outdoor use.
To reduce glare, consider choosing lensed options over open. Most of our products come with frosted diffusers designed to soften light and minimize glare. Baffle reflectors can also help by controlling light distribution.
Additionally, selecting a wider beam spread can reduce glare, but plan your layout carefully to avoid shadows between fixtures. Alcon Lighting sales consultants are available for complimentary layout assistance and Revit files are available upon request for design support.
Yes, most of our round recessed LED lights are compatible with multiple dimming systems, including 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers. Some fixtures may also work with MLV systems. Consult the product’s specification sheet to confirm compatibility with your dimming system.
