Who qualifies for trade pricing?

Architects, Designers, Electricians, and Contractors. Please visit our trade page for more information.

Lighting distributors, please visit our distributor page.

What is a “lead time?”

The lead time is the time it takes to fabricate, assemble and prepare and order for shipment. Lead time is the time between the receipt of an order and shipment.

Note: we cannot guarantee lead times. Occasional backorder of components (i.e., LED drivers, diodes and/or other electrical components) may lead to assembly delays. Be assured, Alcon Lighting is 100 percent committed to meeting and/or exceeding lead time estimates.

What is the difference between a UL and ETL listing?

None. Aside from the body that issues the listing, there is no difference between a UL listing and an ETL listing.

Because Intertek ETL tests products to previously published UL Standards for Safety, products marked as ETL-Listed meet the same criteria as those marked UL-Listed or UL-Recognized.

What is specification-grade or spec grade?

Specification-grade products are products with a variety of assembly variation—length, wattage, finish color, Color Rendering Index (CRI) range, beam spread, etc.—thus are not stocked in volume.

Alcon Lighting stocks components to build each specified product to order, which requires varying lead times.

What is Commercial LED Lighting?

Commercial LED lighting is lighting used in non-residential applications (LED stands for light-emitting diode). “Commercial-grade” typically denotes increased durability, vandal-resistant, featuring advanced, smart lighting technologies such as Bluetooth and Wireless Mesh systems. Commercial lighting applications include, but are not limited to, offices, schools, hospitality and dining, industrial, warehouse and manufacturing facilities. What is your policy on accounts and terms?

Alcon Lighting offers an account for each individual, business, trade professional and distributor.

Trade professionals and distributors qualify for reduced pricing. Because each product is uniquely made to order, according to the customer’s specifications, we require full payment in advance and do not offer terms.

Do you offer N-30 or N-60 terms?

No. Alcon Lighting is not a stocking manufacturer. Most products are built-to-order.

Architectural, specification-grade products require full payment prior to fabrication.

Is trade pricing available on sale items?

No.

Do you quote direct?

Yes. However distributors receive distributor net pricing. If you are a lighting distributor or electrical wholesaler please fill out the application here.

What does preferred account status mean?

The preferred account may include certain privileges ranging from expedited lighting consultation to trade and distributor pricing. Preferred accounts are reserved for qualifying trade professionals, such as designers and architects, and distributors at Alcon Lighting’s discretion for those that meet the above criteria.
