    LED downlights offer improved efficiency and performance. LED lights last 25 to 50 times longer than other bulb types, requiring less maintenance and reducing replacement costs. Compared to fluorescent downlights, LEDs also offer superior color rendering and a wide range of color temperature and dimming controls.

    Alcon Lighting offers a number of solutions to reduce glare. Many downlights feature optional louvers and glare-reducing reflectors. Please refer to the specification sheet for lens options available for each fixture.

  • We offer several color temperature control options. The simplest is a 3-position or 5-position color temperature switch that allows occupants to field adjust between set color temperatures. Tunable white and RGBW color-changing products offer RF remote, DMX wall control and Bluetooth app controls.

    Choosing the right beam spread for cylinder downlights depends on various factors, including fixture height, the intended use of the space and the desired lighting effect.

    1. 1. Determine the function of the space and whether downlights provide general, task or accent lighting. Wider beam spreads provide wide, uniform illumination, while narrower beam spreads create more focused lighting.

    2. 2. Factor in the height of the ceiling. High ceilings may require a narrower beam spread to achieve the desired intensity.

    3. 3. Consider the spacing between fixtures. Wider beam spreads require fewer fixtures.
