The design goal was to create an executive conference room that would inspire creativity while providing a sophisticated environment for high-level business meetings.

What is the intended use of the space?

“The intended use of the conference room for H & M Trucking is executive, team and client meetings,” Otte explains. The company needed a space that would inspire creativity and serve as an impressive backdrop for business deals. She adds, “Alcon Lighting's Hexagon Honeycomb lights were the perfect choice, seamlessly combining smart functionality and controls with an elegant design to meet the company's needs effectively.

The team aimed to provide adequate lighting throughout the conference room while incorporating “unique light fixtures to enhance the overall ambiance and visual appeal.

What was the lighting challenge?

“The primary lighting challenge for this space was creating a versatile lighting scheme to accommodate different tasks,” Otte notes. The conference room needed multiple lighting elements, including natural light, proper lighting for writing and low light options for presentations.

Weatherly and the team wanted decorative fixtures that met the lighting requirements provided by their lighting engineer. They selected Alcon Lighting’s 2-inch Hexagon LED Pendant Light for the project.

"These fixtures provided the memorable lighting design we desired for the space," says Otte. "They allowed us to create a unique pattern that provided a focal point in the conference room and functionality of proper lighting."

Otte highlights the importance of color temperature and lumens for the decorative fixtures. "We wanted the color of this fixture to be slightly warm, so it gave the space a cozy feel while also going well with the natural light in the room," she explains. "We also wanted it to be bright enough so that employees can have adequate lighting for any task needed."
